Pueblo de Panay Township welcomes latest addition to Educational Zone
Roxas City, March 16, 2022 – The University of Perpetual Health System – Pueblo de Panay (UPHS – PDP) held a groundbreaking ceremony for its new campus today.
Located in Pueblo de Panay Township, Roxas City, Capiz, this new campus is a product of the partnership between Pueblo de Panay, Inc., owner and developer of 670-hectare Pueblo de Panay Township, and University of Perpetual Health System JONELTA, who currently operates six (6) other UPHS campuses in the country.
UPHS-PDP started its operations in July 2019 with the Senior High School Department and the College Department with degree programs in Dentistry, Medical Laboratory Science, Radiologic Technology, Pharmacy, Physical Therapy, and Entertainment and Multimedia Computing. Just this Academic Year 2021- 2022, the university started accepting enrollees in Junior High School and Grade School. This project has opened the doors to high quality education and has made accessible other degree programs previously locally unavailable, especially in the allied medical sciences.
Along with other JONELTA campuses, UPHS-PDP had been using an E-Learning platform, which is also a first in Roxas City. When the Covid-19 pandemic struck, this platform made distance learning easier as all materials, exams, and activities are available 24/7.
Like other JONELTA campuses, UPHS-PDP plans to expand the courses offered: Marine Engineering, Marine Transportation, programs within the Business spectrum, Information Technology, and other health allied courses like Nursing and Medicine. It also aims to increase accessibility by undergoing certification and forging partnerships with the LGUs, NGOs and private individuals for scholarship grants.
